Florence and Jean - the story behind the name

Welcome to the very first blog post from Florence and Jean! If you’re here, you already know that we are a boutique that takes fun very seriously - we provide the most unique, curated and beautiful accessories, home decor, gifts, and seasonal accoutrements.

But today, I wanted to pull back the curtain and share why this shop exists and where that name actually comes from.

A Legacy of Style and Grace

Florence and Jean isn’t just a catchy title; it is a living tribute to two of the most influential women in my life: my grandmothers, Rosa Florence and Donna Jean.

Growing up, I watched how these women moved through the world. They understood that "style" wasn't just about the clothes and accessories you wore, but the way you influenced your surroundings (people and home alike).

• Rosa Florence brought warmth, character, and that quintessential spark of personality. She lived to be 100 and accessorized perfectly until the very end.
• Donna Jean brought a sense of timeless elegance and classic beauty. Unfortunately, Grandma Donna passed when I was very young, but my memories of her are strong, just like her jewelry game.

By blending their names, I wanted to create a space that felt exactly like they did—sophisticated yet soulful, curated yet welcoming, but most of all, fun.

While we started as a destination for accessories and decor, Florence and Jean is growing into something much more interactive. We aren't just shipping packages; we’re helping you create memories.

Whether you are looking for that perfect stackable bracelet for whatever season (and we mean this literally - baseball season, football season, spring, summer - whatever) of life you’re in, or you're interested in our newer experiences—like our custom hat bars or permanent jewelry parties—the goal remains the same: to provide the most unique pieces. Florence and Jean isn’t just a boutique - it’s a vibe.
